Printer-friendly version

The ECLAN Summer School "The EU Area of Criminal Justice" will be held at the Institute of European Studies of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (IEE-ULB) from 3 July to 7 July 2023.

Topic: The topic of this year's Summer School will be the wider and ever-increasing role of EU actors in criminal law, analysed from different angles. Each lecture will be devoted to a topical issue of the EU criminal-law field, which will be addressed by several speakers, thereby complementing the academic perspective with that of practitioners working with EU and national institutions. Moreover, the evening conference will be devoted to a new issue attracting unprecedented developments in EU criminal law: the role of EU actors in the fight against core international crimes. Finally, the Summer School will be closed by a special panel hosting several practitioners, allowing participants to discover the career options available to those specialised in EU criminal law.

Target: Practitioners (lawyers, EU or national civil servants) working in criminal matters; researchers and students interested in the EU area of criminal justice.

Application: E-mail to eclan.network@gmail.com, with a clear object (e.g. "Summer School 2023 - application") and a CV enclosed. Tuition fee reductions are available to students and PhD candidates, by presenting a motivation letter.
