How to submit manuscripts to European Papers

Authors are invited to submit their manuscripts to the following e-mail address: submission@europeanpapers.eu.
Manuscripts sent through other channels will not be considered for evaluation.
Before submitting their manuscripts, Authors are strongly recommended to read the following instructions and the European Papers Style Guide, also for citation of authorities, legislation, judicial decisions teachings and other legal materials.

Instructions for submitting manuscripts

1. All manuscripts must be original and not published or under consideration for publication elsewhere. Before publishing in European Papers, Authors are invited to express their consent to publish and to transfer the corresponding copyright. Therefore, when submitting the manuscript, Authors are requested to fill in, sign and submit to submission@europeanpapers.eu the "Copyright and Consent to Publish" form.
2. Manuscripts must be written in English. Authors who are not English native-speakers are strongly recommended to obtain a good linguistic revision before submitting the manuscript.
3. Manuscripts’ length for contributions could indicatively be as follows:
- Articles (classical doctrinal essays on European integration): max 20.000 words, footnotes included.
- Case analyses (analyses of European cases): max 10.000 words, footnotes included.

Manuscripts Review Process

All manuscripts submitted for publication in European Papers will be subject to a preliminary evaluation of the Editors and, subsequently, to a blind peer review carried out by two reviewers, of which at least one is external (indipendent), designated by the Editors.
At the end of the blind peer review, the manuscript may be considered as follows: accepted without any further revision; accepted with revisions; rejected. In case of manuscript accepted with revisions, the Author will be required to amend the text in accordance with the reviewers’ indications. A deadline for submitting the revised version will be established taking into account the nature and quantity of the requested revisions. Upon receipt of the revised version, if needed, the Editors will submit it again to the reviewers asking them for a final approval on publication.
The Editors will inform the Author on the blind peer review’s status and outcome. In any case, the acceptance of a manuscript for European Papers will be communicated to the Author before publication.

Licensing and Copyright

The Author(s) guarantee(s) that the contribution is original and has not been published in any printed or electronic journal or media.
The Author(s) warrant(s) and represent(s) that the contribution does not infringe upon any copyright, nor it contains any libelous statements.
During the peer review process, the Author(s) remain(s) the exclusive owner(s) of the rights over the contribution. However, the Author(s) undertake(s) to behave in good faith. Therefore, any subsequent decisions to withdraw the manuscript shall be duly motivated.
In the event of acceptance for publication, the Author(s) retain(s) the copyright of the manuscript and agree(s) to grant(s) European Papers the full right to publish the contribution in any printed or electronic journal or media, and in any format.
The contribution is be published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0)
Therefore, any subsequent re-publication of the contribution by the author(s) shall comply with the terms and conditions of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License and shall include a full reference to its first publication in European Papers. For commercial purposes, the Author(s) may request the Editors of European Papers to authorize the re-publication of the contribution in another journal or media.

Ethics and Open access

The publication of the results of a scientific research is a highly complex procedure, indeed, which impose to all the subjects involved (Board of Editors and Editorial Committee of European Papers, Reviewers and Authors) with particular rigor and accuracy (as far as Editorial Policies and Board of Editors’, Editorial Committee’s, Reviewers’ and Authors’ duties are concerned, see European Papers “Code of Ethics”, adopted in conformity with the COPE Guidelines and Core Practices, and European Papers “Policy Screening for Plagiarism”).

European Papers aims at offering a real and immediate open access for academic work (see European Papers “Open Access Statement”), and, provided that public availability is delayed after the end of the double-blind peer-review, also guarantees the possibility to upload accepted manuscript in pdf format to an institutional and/or centrally organized repository for the Authors (see European Papers “Author Self-archiving Policy”).
